MINDSCAPE WEBINARS EP1

Email Newsletters - Building Personal Relations with Readers and Audiences in the Age of Social Media.

Conducted on 28 April, 2024 (Sunday)

In an era where social media platforms are saturated with content, email newsletters offer a more direct and personal way to reach your audience. Unlike social media, where algorithm changes can significantly impact your content’s visibility, email newsletters land directly in your subscribers’ inboxes, ensuring your message gets seen.

In this session, our special guest, Ankita Apurva who’s a writer and journalist took us through her journey of starting out her newsletter ‘Right to Read and Excel’. She talked about her reasons for starting out this personal communication channel and how she did it.

Ankita is a journalist and writer and the founder of ‘Language Adage’, an initiative to make English learning possible for all, or at least as many of us as possible, across borders and boundaries. Her newsletter, ‘Right to Rest and Excel’, is focused on “Breaking the gatekeeping around culture, writing, reading and self-love. Making ideas accessible to all.”

Conducted on 3rd August, 2024

In this session, we discussed the evolution of Right to Information as a potent tool for empowering citizens to ensure accountability and transparency in governance, and the speaker provided insights on how to effectively utilise it.

The session was conducted by Abhay who’s a lawyer and co-founder of Zenith Society for socio-legal empowerment. Zenith is a non-profit organisation working on grassroots legal empowerment of Sahariya Adivasi communities in India.

MINDSCAPES Ep4

Conducted on 3rd January 2026

We kicked off 2026 at Newsreel Academy with a session on Study Abroad Opportunities, led by Manzer—an Oxford graduate and Chevening Scholar.

While many global opportunities exist, a lot of capable students either don’t know about them or feel they’re too out of reach. This session broke down those barriers and walked participants through how to begin the journey.

More sessions coming soon. Stay tuned and follow Newsreel Academy.
