A bit more about our Alumni

Since its inception in 2021, Newsreel Academy has trained professionals and students from across South Asia, including Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal. Our participants, ranging from budding journalism students to seasoned working journalists, from communication specialists in civil society organizations to passionate film enthusiasts, reflect the diversity of backgrounds and interests within our community.

Notable success stories include Tej Bahadur Singh and Jyoti Jangra, both proud full-time members of Newsreel Asia’s video production team, emerging from the pioneer batch of the Academy.

Our connection with Alumni remains strong through the online Newsreel Academy Alumni Group. Additionally, we foster in-person connections through annual alumni meets, creating opportunities for former fellows to reconnect and celebrate their shared experiences.
